Music Music Music. The San Francisco Symphony Kids Site is a one way ticket to the wonderful world of Music. With its mission to better involve kids in understanding the beauty of music, SFS Kids does a marvelous job of explaining instrumentation, letting kids know what the symphony is currently involved in and even has a section where any visitor may make a tune of their own.
The site has very vivid coloration and it is extremely bright. It has the look and feel of a cartoon and does a very good job of not overpowering a visitor by getting too technical with the different aspects of its mission
While the site is pleasing to the eye, its lack of diversity gives it a somewhat simplistic feel. This is not meant to take away from it but there is little content presented where there probably could have been. But, what it does show is direct linkage to various aspects and does a good job of explaining what each section does.
SFS Kids is a nice music site dedicated to the performing art of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. It does a nice job of explaining its mission to children and not in a boring way either. Here’s to hoping they add more content to what promises to be a growing portal for more than JUST for San Francisco but for ANY child interested in music.
